The most important possession a person can have is a person only. Gems, currency, and lavishness used to be dreams of people. In modern age when a person wants peace in his/her life living in world where every moment every other person, not related to you, wants to take your advantage in some or other way. We cannot call them selfish as we ourselves are selfish at most of times. I am selfish because I don't live for myself only and want the people related to me happy at all times and this matters a lot to me. I may define a person selfish if he or she lives only for himself or herself but personally I feel we don't have any right to call a person selfish because we do not know what all comprises of himself or herself.
Relationships are not always defined. People just feel like liking someone or something. Though there are certain things that we all like with or without any reason. These include flowers, kids, music, snowfall, monsoon rain, some dish, a cellphone, a dress, a greeting card, or simply a piece of paper. We are attached to them in some or the other way. I may be attached to a flower, I once saw in my bad times, that came from a plant that I once planted in my good times. That may become a symbol that there were good times for me and there will be good times in my life in future as well. I may be attached to a shirt which my brother or parents may have gifted to me or some of my dearest friends have gifted to me. I may keep it always with me so as to consider that the people who gave that to me are with me every-time whenever I wear that shirt and I am far from them. There are in-numerable reasons of liking something or someone which we cannot define or explain to anyone.
When I say or define what is important to me I may be confused while doing so. This could be because I may listen to others while evaluating things for me. I may find a large amount of cash, or a lavish life or may be some exceptional success to be something very important to me. I may also consider a trip to a holy place, a donation to a charity institute, a surprise gift to my people which may bring a smile on their face or a silly act that may bring smiles on face of people who are though not related to me but their happy faces may encourage me to do such things. What I believe is if we think about us only at all times then our world would become limited to only a few people we know. We should try to do something for others also. After-all we humans are made to be affected by others happiness or sorrow also.
While I kept thinking about a perfect example about how a person can share a limited amount of happiness to any number of people, I found that we all have something amongst us that we can share to any number of people. Its love and affection which everyone wants. A cake is a very good example of that. A cake can be shared amongst any number of people. Though sharing a b'day cake to a large number of people may make pieces smaller in size but the feeling with which you are sharing with them will increase and you will make a number of people know you.
To understand a person, it is important to understand what is most important to him or her. If I am not able to respect someone's choice regarding what is most important to him or her, I may not be able to understand that person. Having something that is quite important to you is an achievement in itself. If I know what is most important to me, I can live for it only and will be happy throughout my life. But this strictly does not mean that we take this decision too quickly. Big decisions take time, so give sufficient time while choosing things important to you.
That's what all I think about giving importance to ourselves and making things really important to us because its not only about making things go right but its about making things go perfect up to the level of your thinking.
